Primary Care Clinic

Eva's Primary Care Clinic is one of only five truly free primary care clinics in the state of New Jersey that does not charge patients for its services. Our Primary Care Clinic started as a mobile van that administered tuberculosis tests on the streets when Paterson was the nation's "TB capital" in the early 1990s.

Today, the Clinic provides nearly 5,000 routine acute care paitent visits annually to the hundreds of residents in our shelters and recovery programs or among the 250 people we feed each day in our kitchen. Other clinic patients just walk in from the neighborhood, but in each case they represent the truly medically needy and underserved, and no one is ever turned away.

The Clinic is staffed by a Medical Director, Dr. Robert Collin, eight volunteer Nurse Practitioners, volunteer dentists and volunteer podiatrists. It offers an array of services including: basic screening and assessment, primary care, dental care, immunizations, routine acute care, medication monitoring, referral, and follow-up.

Dental Care
Eva's Dental Care Clinic opened in 2002 under the leadership of Dr. Brian Ullmann to offer compassionate, free dental care. It is open every Wednesday and two Thursdays each month. The Clinic's volunteer staff offers a range of services including emergency and preventive care, diagnosis and restoration, root canals, partial and complete dentures, and oral surgery.

In the past year, more than 500 needy dental patients received free care. The demand for these services is so great that the Clinic has a two month waiting list.
