Eva’s Village Success Stories

Willing Hands and Hearts
An essential ingredient in the success of Eva's Village has always been our many dedicated volunteers.

Becoming a volunteer starts with the desire to give for the sake of giving, then turning that desire into action by reaching out to get involved. At Eva's, volunteers support our mission everyday by sharing their time and talents in our soup kitchen, medical and dental clinics and by mentoring clients in our Workforce Development Program as well as tutors in the Hope Residence for Mothers and Children.

Please note all onsite volunteers have to be at least 15 years of age to serve in the soup kitchen. Our biggest need is on weekdays only from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. We currently schedule volunteers several weeks in advance, and request all new volunteers or a leader of a team to attend an orientation first. Due to our busy holiday season our next date for our monthly volunteer orientation has been set for January 12, 2015 in the evening at 5:30 p.m. There is no need to register for the orientation, simply just show up to our location 393 Main Street in Paterson, NJ. When you arrive, ring the bell at the front door lobby and tell them you are here for the volunteer orientation.

So if you have the desire or want to get involved please call or email Elizabeth Matthews, Volunteer Coordinator, at 973.523.6220 ext. 248 or .
